Was that the border waaaay back there?
A brown streak flashed across the land a yellow blur right after it. They zigzagged and dodged all over the place and didn't slow down even a little bit when they both rocketed over the ThunderClan border. Eventually the rabbit being chased ducked into it's den at the base of a tree and Morningpaw was forced to stop. She'd been so into the hunt that she didn't even notice the border when she'd crossed it. Now she was so disappointed with her loss that she still didn't notice that she was sitting in the middle of ThunderClan territory not even trying to hide herself. Shortly after she did notice, she heard a growl and stiffened as a lean black cat came out of the undergrowth. The thing that caught the young apprentice's attention was the single white marking, a moon on the cat's flank.
"What are you doing here? Stealing prey it looks like!" Shadowmoon accused, circling the apprentice.
"I wasn't stealing prey, I promise. Please don't tell Copperstar!" Morningpaw pleaded. She didn't want to get in trouble with her leader.
"You were chasing that rabbit on ThunderClan land. Seems like prey stealing to me. Let's see what Soulstar thinks," he mewed and nudged Morningpaw to her feet and began herding her back towards camp.

[ If you'd rather me not be here, I'll leave. C: ] "Shadowmoon," a voice purred. "Comrade. I believe she was telling the truth. Do you really think it is enough to take to Soulstar?"
Stargazer walked calmly toward the two cats, smiling kindly at the apprentice. She doubted the tom would listen to her, though it had never caused much trouble for her to speak up amongst her clanmates. The gray warrior shrugged her shoulders. "Though, perhaps I didn't see the entire thing. Perhaps she is a terrible, terrible thief." Her smile didn't falter, and the laughter in her voice was enough to hint that she was only joking.[/color]

A terrible thief? Morningpaw thought despairingly until she caught Stargazer's expression and the tone of her voice. She gave a relieved, but still somewhat nervous smile as she looked back to Shadowmoon, her big brown eyes begging him to listen to his Clanmate.
Shadowmoon looked up at Stargazer and then suspiciously at the apprentice. "If we don't take her to Soulstar, how will she learn her lesson," he grumbled, narrowing his eyes slightly at the jumpy apprentice. But he sighed and looked at Stargazer. "If we don't take her to Soulstar, I want to wait to give her back to a WindClan warrior, perhaps even Copperstar himself. Her elders need to know what she did." He cast another hard glare at the apprentice and looked back to Stargazer for feedback.

Stargazer's tail moved from one side to the other, slowly, as if it itself were in deep thought. She watched the apprentice for a moment or two, then shrugged. "Well, comrade," she said, "perhaps we should let her decide? If I remember correctly, she was not in all that much of a hurry to return to Copperstar. Which would you rather report to, apprentice?" the gray she-cat asked, lowering her head to the apprentice's level [it wasn't too low of a stretch, to be honest.] Stargazer herself had never met Copperstar, and truth be told still needed to become more acquianted with her own leader as well. "Your choice," she said.

Morningpaw shuffled her paws and avoided making eye contact with Stargazer. "I'd rather not meet with anyone and keep this whole thing between me and StarClan," she mumbled and then glanced up at the gray warrior. "As a choice between Soulstar and Copperstar or a warrior and Copperstar?" she asked to clarify what options she had.
Shadowmoon rolled his eyes at Morningpaw. "I still think we should just let Soulstar decide what to do," he muttered, shaking his head and waiting for his Clanmate to answer Morningpaw.

"I do understand what you mean, comrade." she said quietly to Shadowmoon. "Soulstar would know exactly what do to. But she--Soulstar or Copperstar," she added, breaking off the sentence to answer the apprentice's question. She took a breath to continue, but paused again. Her fellow clanmate would understand what she meant, Stargazer told herself.
Starclan. The apprentice mentioned Starclan. What would Starclan say, she wondered, if they took the young cat up to them? What would Silversun say? She stifled a smile. Silversun would probably give her a bop on the nose and send her home, Stargazer thought. Or maybe not maybe she would-- Oh, the little she-cat was speaking again. Stargazer forced herself to listen.

While Stargazer began thinking about StarClan, Morningpaw was pondering her choices. She didn't know much about Soulstar. She purposefully didn't bother thinking about what the leader of another Clan would to to punish her for trespassing. Copperstar wouldn't hurt her, at least. She could guess at the punishments from the leader of her own clan.
With a sigh, she decided. "I wanna go to Copperstar," she mumbled loud enough for the warriors to hear. She didn't really want to go to either of them, but she figured Copperstar would go easier on her than Soulstar. Plus if she went to see the ThunderClan leader, chances were she'd have to go see the WindClan leader right after it. Only meeting with one seemed easier.

Stargazer gave the she-cat a smile. "Copperstar it is, then," she said, turning to her clanmate.
[Ugh, museless. Dx I'll edit this in half an houror so. I dunno.]

Morningpaw forced a smile and nodded. "Okay," she mewed as Shadowmoon escorted her to the border and told her to sit down and wait. She sighed and obeyed, scanning the land for any sign of her Clanmates. She noticed that Shadowmoon's muscles were tense under his pelt, ready to stop her if she tried to run and she didn't fancy adding to her trouble so she just stay put, shuffling her paws in the snow and dead leaves.

He was wandering. Not for a reason; if any cat were to question himm, he'd of course say he was on a patrol. In this case, though, he wasn't. Copperstar spotted three cats right on the clan border. One scent he recognized as a Windclan apprentice.
"Morningpaw?"
"Oh, Copperstar," Stargazer said quickly, but the leader interrupted.
"What's this?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. He glanced from the Thunderclan tom to the she-cat, giving them a wide grin. "What's the...problem?"

Morningpaw ducked her head slightly when Copperstar came over and Shadowmoon opened his mouth to explain.
Shadowmoon looked at the WindClan leader. "We caught this apprentice of yours hunting on our territory," he explained, doing his best to sound respectful.
Morningpaw's head whipped up and she looked to Shadowmoon. "I didn't know it had crossed the border," she protested, turning to face Copperstar. "I didn't know," she repeated.
"Then perhaps you should ask your mentor to teach you about the Clan boundaries," Shadowmoon hissed to the apprentice.

"It was an accident," Stargazer shrugged. "No harm wa--." The Windclan leader began to speak. She glanced at her clanmate and shrugged again, taking a step back and deciding to keep quiet.
Again, Copperstar interrupted her. "That'd probably be partially my fault, to be honest." he said with a half-smile. "I haven't given them mentors yet. I didn't think they would wander around much," at 'they,' he motioned to the apprentice, "but I suppose I should've known better. Did she catch it, whatever she was going after?" he asked, thinking over some sort of repayment if she had ended up catching the...whatever it was...on Thunderclan territory.

"I didn't," Morningpaw mewed hastily before Shadowmoon could reply. "I didn't catch it," she repeated. "I was chasing the rabbit and it got away," she explained. She glanced up at Shadowmoon and Copperstar and rose to her paws. "So does that mean I can go now?" she asked hopefully. The black warrior gave a shrug and looked to Copperstar and the apprentice followed his gaze and looked up at the leader.

"Sure, sure," Copperstar nodded, smiling widely at the younger she-cat. "Go ahead, you can go." He glanced at the two other warriors, nodding to them. "Glad a couple of good cats caught her," he grinned.
Stargazer took a nonchalant step back, accidentally catching Copperstar's eyes as she glanced at him. He gave her a sly wink and she stiffened, narrowing her eyes as the leader turned and walked calmly off behind the apprentice. When he was far enough away, she huffed and turned to Shadowmoon.

Shadowmoon snorted softly as Morningpaw scampered off the instant she had Copperstar's consent to do so. He gave a stiff nod to Copperstar's words and caught Stargazer tense slightly and waited until the ginger leader was gone before askin her about it. "Something wrong?" he asked, cocking his head slightly to one side to emphasize the question.
