Rabbitpaw nodded sympathetically. Now who did Morningpaw's story remind him of? Why, Morningpaw's life was very similar to his mother's! I wonder... Rabbitpaw turned to Morningpaw, his voice was filled with curiosity. Have you ever decided to mate with every other tom you saw? Okay, maybe his mom wasn't that bad, but that's how Mud used to describe it. Rabbitpaw suddenly realized the vulgarity in his question. She's only seven moons! Of course she hasn't! Rabbitpaw let out an awkward cough. Er, I mean, well I...

Morningpaw looked shocked and embarrassed by Rabbitpaw's question. "No," she answered quickly. She bent her head to give her chest fur a few quick licks in an attempt to hide her embarrassment and then looked back at Rabbitpaw. "Why would you ask a question like that?" she asked after he started trying to correct himself. She wasn't mad that he'd asked the question because he didn't seem to truly realize what he'd said until a moment after he'd said it. Then he'd looked just about embarrassed as she was.

It took Rabbitpaw a moment to recollect himself. Your life story reminded me that of my mom’s. He replied. Mud used to tell how she brought home a lot of mates when she was a younger. Rabbitpaw explained. Mom said they were just friends, but Mud wasn’t mousebrained. Rabbitpaw chuckled. He was really glad that Morningpaw was angry at him; though he did kind of feel bad about embarrassing her like that. Sorry about that. Rabbitpaw apologized.

Morningpaw nodded in understanding. "I see," she meowed. "Well I don't think I'll wind up having so many mates," she assured him somewhat awkwardly. She shook her head slightly and smiled. "Don't worry about it. I guess I can see how you could make that kind of connection," she mewed. If she had been much older than Rabbitpaw, she might've been offended, but since they were about the same age, she didn't think it was such a big deal. "Do you still keep in contact with your mother?" she asked.

Rabbitpaw laughed. She doesn’t do that anymore. Mom hates toms now. He snickered. Yeah, she still keeps contact. She visits me every day; Mom usually at night. Rabbitpaw explained. I really don’t care what you do with toms. My mom taught to accept other cats based on how they treat others. She threatened to eat me if I didn’t. Rabbitpaw laughed again.

Morningpaw gave a shy smile and nodded. "It's good that your mom still talks to you, even if she isn't part of the Clan," she paused and hoped she hadn't assumed to much. "And she would eat you? Why, I'm sure you wouldn't taste very good. I've heard that apprentices don't make very good meals," she joked and flicked her ears to show she wasn't serious. She bowed her head when she realized that her little joke was kind of lame, but didn't try to take it back. What was said couldn't be unsaid.

Yeah, it is nice. Rabbitpaw purred. The whole eating me thing was just a figure of speech. She wouldn't really- He suddenly froze when her paw connected with his ear. To most cats it would just feel like a tap, but to Rabbitpaw, it felt as if she stabbed him in the ear with a porcupine needle. Unneeded anger came over him. DON'T TOUCH ME!!! DON'T EVER TOUCH ME!!! Rabbitpaw pretty much exploded in her face. In his rage, he attempted to slash Morningpaw's shoulder; he was to blinded by fury to tell if he landed the blow. Rabbitpaw just stood there, shaking in anger. After what seemed like forever, Rabbitpaw calmed down. Oh no. Tell me I just didn't do that! StarClan, please tell me I just didn't... Rabbitpaw stared in horror at Morningpaw.

Morningpaw looked confused when Rabbitpaw shouted at her and her confusion didn't let her move to avoid Rabbitpaw's claws. A broken gasp of shock and pain came from the apprentice as she looked down at her shoulder. There was a gash on it and blood was slowly soaking her fur. It began dripping down onto the snow leaving neat red dots where it fell. After the initial shock passed, the pain hit her and she stumbled slightly and wound up sitting with the paw attached to her injured shoulder held in the air. Her brown eyes shifted up to the cat before her and widened slightly in fear and confusion. "I'm sorry," she managed to choke out, scooting back slightly to support herself on the boulder. "I didn't....I didn't know," she mewed, flinching slightly when another wave of pain came from her shoulder. The creamy orange fur on her shoulder was matted together and turned red because of the sticky substance. She knew she needed to get back to camp, but didn't want to move in case Rabbitpaw had another outburst.

Oh StarClan. I did... Guilt rushed over Rabbitpaw in waves. He stared in horror as the blood leaked from Morningpaw's shoulder. As the red liquid dripped to the ground, to Rabbitpaw, it sounded louder than it should be. Stay here Morningpaw! I'm going to see if I can get some herbs! Rabbitpaw rushed off. Get some herbs? I don't know any herbs! Yes you do, Mud told you a few of them. I wasn't listening! But you were still there; try and remember what she said. I can't! You can, just try. Okay, I will. Rabbitpaw was frozen in fear as he tried to remember what Mud told him about scratches. What helped heal scratches? What was it? It was..It was...It was...Marigold! Rabbitpaw yelped and went off to search for some Marigold. Luckily, it only took a few minutes to find. Rabbitpaw urgently ran back to Morningpaw. He rubbed the flower onto her scratch. Rabbitpaw felt his skin connect with hers and the anger began to bubble up. No. I won't. He let out a sharp gasp as he strangled down his anger and dressed her wound with some cobweb nearby. I'm sorry. I so sorry.

Morningpaw could see in his reaction that Rabbitpaw hadn't meant to scratch her. She obeyed and stayed put while he ran about looking for herbs and her eyes shone slightly with admiration that he knew how to treat the scratch. She tensed slightly as he began applying the marigold and cobwebs, afraid that he would attack her again at the contact, but she relaxed when he didn't. "It's okay," she mewed quietly. "Maybe we should get back to camp and have the medicine cat look this over, just in case," she suggested. She stood up and managed to balance herself on three legs, keeping her injured on in the air to avoid hurting herself again.

Rabbitpaw nodded solemnly and rushed to her on her good shoulder as she tried to walk. A sharp shock passes through his skin; he desperately wanted to yell and attack something, but he held it in. Come on Morningpaw. Rabbitpaw supported Morningpaw up as she walked.

Morningpaw gave a relieved smile when Rabbitpaw rushed over to help her walk. She leaned on him slightly, but made sure not to lean to much in case she hurt him. She limped slowly along, occasionally losing her footing on the snow, but she never fell, just slipped. "Thanks for helping me," she mewed, panting slightly from the effort of staying balanced on three legs and snow.
((Yeah I'll make it if you want me to))

Don't thank me. Rabbitpaw shook his head. I'm the one that did this to you. He reminded Morningpaw. And I wont do anything to hurt her again. Rabbitpaw mentally assured himself. I hope.
[[Sure. I suck at starting threads.]]
