Shattergaze yawned and stretched and bathed in the morning rays her mismatched eyes blinked once's as she looked around the familiar camp. Other cats where waking two. They looked groggy and only a few apprentices seemed to be bursting with energy. She padded softly toward the leader den. There she stopped and debated with herself as to weather or not to enter the den.
"Hello?"she said loudly as she entered she scanned the room and when she found the leader she asked. "Would you like to go on border patrol with me?". She hadn't talked to Soulstar in a while and a border patrol seemed like a good way to patch up some gaps in there friendship. She smiled warmly while waiting for his reply.
-you don't have anything on liquid time so is it okay if I have two threads of the same char.? |

 [/color] A large, dark pelted cat moved towards Soulstar, and evil grin plastered across his face. "What are you going to do kit? Hmmm? Where are you going to go?" The small little Bengal kitten backed up, panic stricken eyes gazing horrified at the large tome cat. "No. I. I can leave. Please Crowfire. Don't hurt me!" Soulstar jerked awake from his terrible memory dream. He swallowed nervously and looked around, eyes focusing he spotted Shattergaze looking towards him. Patrol? Oh...yes Standing up he stretched, flexed his claws and nodded. "Morning Shattergaze, sure why not? A little patrol won't hurt."[/color] |

She nodded even though she was sure for a second there was fear in his eyes no wait worrie. She must of just been imaging it she told herself forcefully. Smiling again she walked out the door and trotted out the entrance on her way to the boarder. Shatter didn't bother slowing for Soulstar since he would cover more space with his stride than she would in her sleep. When she was at the boarder she began to prompt a conversation.
"Nice day no? " she said glancing into the forest her eyes flicked when something moved. "Wonder how long it will last"and this peace the clans are so close right now its a bit frightening.She looked up at the larger warrior waiting for his response.

Soulstar
[/color] Soulstar sat quickly and ran his tongue over his golden spotted coat, his white jowls rubbing against his muscular shoulder. Perhaps I can get my dream off my mind, and Cloverstar... He paused and gazed at the floor for a moment, finally he stood and stretched and padded out of his den. Turning he realized Shattergaze had reached the entrance to the camp. He sped forward feeling his muscles stretch out their sleepiness. He flashed Shatter a small half smile before slowing to a small trot. "Yes, beautiful day. Speaking of which. How have your days been?" He glanced up and out of the camp. I wonder what boarder she wants to patrol.[/color]

Leading the way she walked smoothly along the border between them and no mans land. She figured it was the least patrolled area and would be good place to check up on. She smiled polity back as she strode on ward. "Great wonderful actually" she said in a good tone. Her tail flicked nervously with embarrassment. She continued on in a mumble "Met Bluefire" she didn't continue on any father but the meaning was clear. Shuffling her paws she lapsed into silence for a second.Hmm Bluefire wonder what your doing?.
"How about you? to her he seemed more distant with every passing day.Hes always been distant its part of his personality. Her attention on the bengal tom she was surprised to catch the whiff of a hostile sent. Her hair fluffed up as she realized it was close she turned and looked over the border to see a Fox. She hissed as she realized the animal thought she was a kit and was seizing her up.

Soulstar
[/color] So the boarder was growing near, and with that the scents were changing. Soulstar looked around at the bushes and the trees, he loved taking walks but when things changed drastically then things could get out of control. He swished his tail to his side and looked to Shattergaze. "Well that's good." He said in response to her first sentence then he paused and nodded "Bluefire..." He nodded, and then paused, looking at an abandoned mouse hole. Thin smoke hung in the air from a small fire that broke out in the northern territory, he shivered, he hated that smell. "Well I've been gre....fine." He flicked his gaze away nervously and shrugged his shoulders to release tension. "Just fine." Just as he finished talking the scent of fox filled the clearing. His scruff rose and a deep low growl echoed down his throat.[/color]

-Nothen interesting was happening so I spiced it up a little bit. Feel free to rp the fox two.
The fox was a bit larger than average but the thinness it held showed it had been starved. Shattergaze looked into his eyes and narrowed them. Its amber pools had lost all reason and for that she pitied him. Launching forward she didn't wait for Soulstar to respond. The fox meet her head on and she clawed at its face as it snapped at her shoulder. Teeth and claw collided as the ground was dotted crimson.
Shattergaze now in its grip riggled away and raced behind Soulstar. She felt regret and anger at herself for not being able to face the Fox on her own but she wouldn't let pride get her killed.If Soulstars hurt it will be your fault you practically fed him to the fox. She clenched her jaw in shame.yah but he has nine lives more than I do. The fox now had a lust for blood having tasted the meal he had long dreamed of.

Soulstar
[/color] Even though they had hardly any time to respond Shattergaze did what she could. Soulstar's jaw dropped at she launched herself at it. He unsheathed his claws, centered himself as his hackles rose. Blood splattered the ground, and his right side. His eyes glazed over in anger and worry. Was Shattergaze alright? He staggered to the side as the fox sauntered past, but was gaining speed. No, you can't let Shattergaze get hurt more than she is. She must not die! Fear swelled up in his spotted chest as he turned and pounded after the fox.
His claws were unsheathed, it ached to run on the hard ground with them that way. But he did it anyways. With a tremendous amount of force Soulstar launched himself at the back haunches of the fox, his claws sunk into the left leg as he missed by inches. The fox parted his jaws in a squealing yowl as Soulstars claw hooked against bone, keeping him there. Soulstar growled in anger and pain as he was dragged a tails length. The fox whirled around, kicking its leg until his claw yanked loose. The red fox spun around and snapped at Soulstars neck. Turning as fast as he could Soulstar attempted to leap to his paws but was to slow. The fox sunk his long yellowed teeth into his scruff, with a heave he was flung a few tails lengths to a tree. Wincing Soulstar hit the tree and slid down its side. He groaned a low hollow groan as he tried to pull himself up again, he was using the tree as support.

Panic hit her as Soulstar did what most sane cats would do and moved to the side. She growled again and crouched low touching the ground. But Soulstar recovered and caught the fox inches away from where she stood. He charged at the fox and attacked he flung his claws into the beasts leg. It screeched and she noticed that he'd dug deep. Shattergaze did her beast to calm her heart down. She looked up just in time to see things change.
O my starclan. She stared in fear as she saw Fox jaws clamp on to Soulstar's neck. Then he became airborne as he was flung into a tree. She flashed forward with her talent for speed. The small she-cat stood before Soulstar and the fox. She racked her claws at the fox's face. Now that his attention was on her she moved quickly flashing her claws on its side she moved away from Soulstar and over the border. Her pads where roof and strong so the terrain didn't bother her.
She flung a paw again but the fox ducked and latched onto her shoulder. She yelped in pain and scratched at the foxes face and bit its ear. Oww oww it hurts hurts. Using her back paws she scratched at the foxes neck. She did her best as she looked at Soulstar briefly the pressure on her shoulder was mounting.The vixens going to snap my shoulder. Now her struggle was desperate as she withered and flung claws every which way.

He swallowed as he tried to push himself away from the tree Soulstar watched as Shattergaze fought the fox. Mousedung! He bared his teeth at the fox as it glanced his direction before latching its long teeth into her shoulder. Holding his left paw from the ground as he stood there. Lashing his long gold and black tail at the fox. He sprained his paw when he hit the tree and there was a gash in his right shoulder, but his friend was in trouble. "Shatter!" He yowled as the fox bit down harder, and harder.
Placing his hurt paw on the ground, wincing, Soulstar flung himself at the Fox's scruff, he didn't want to get bit as well. Latching his teeth into the fox's ear and his claws into its scruff he held on tightly. The fox held on tighter, and tighter, but just when Soulstar thought he might fall off the Fox started to tense. Taking the moment for an advantage Soulstar reached over and clawed at the fox's eyes. It opened its eyes and let out a high pitch squeal, its long read fur now matted with blood. Soulstar spat as he was flung to the ground. The fox was half standing and half laying down and rubbing it's face. Finally he stood and closed in on Soulstar.
Soulstar was barely conscious. He flicked his ears and flopped his tail on the ground as the fox approached. He lifted his head as the fox neared; he rolled onto his stomach and tried to push himself to his feet. The fox jumped forward at that moment and bit down on his tail, Soulstar yowled and swung himself around. He clawed at the fox's now bloodied muzzle and snapped at his ears. The fox let go only to bite down on Soulstars outstreached right arm. He growled and started kicking at the fox's throat.

Again the fox attention was moved. Shattergaze was dropped harshly on the ground as Soulstar fought the beast. Afraid to put pressure on her shoulder she stood on her other three paws gaining orientation.
Survaying the fight she winced as Soulstar went flying again. She moved forward but stopped for a second in pain. Strengthening her will she charge the fights as a high pitched cry lept from the foxes mouth.
She jumped at it as it clamped on Soulstars tail. Landing short both animals moved again. She hissed and jumped on the fox. Soulstar had his neck and she didnt want to get in the middle. Tearing at the fox she noticed its strength was fading. She started scratching at its face in hopes it would let go of her leader.

Soulstar felt the Fox's breath growing shallow, he knew none of them could go on for much longer. His breath started coming in huffs as the fox tried to shake him loose. It let go of him as Shatter clung to it. He dropped down and rolled away, wincing. He narrowed his eyes as the fox twisted trying to grab Shatter. It let out a weak growl and a small yelp. His paws sent up dirt. "Shatter! Jump away! It'll run!" Soulstar called as he limped backwards his shoulder bleeding and tail stinging.

She breathed with relief as Soulstar pulled away.Now her full attention was staying on the fox with out getting bitten. The fox opened it voice in protest.
"Shatter! Jump away! It'll run!"
She jumped with her left over strength. Her small body catapulted through the air as the force of her feet pushed the fox down for a few seconds. As soulstar had said the fox scampered away. Shatter watched it go as the sudden crash on the ground faced her toward the being. Wincing she stood surveying the ripped earth in front of her. Blood splatters and signs of struggles decorated the ground.
"Soulstar? You alive" She called figuring he was in the vicinity.

His shoulder was bleeding, his ear was torn, his paws hurt and he hit his head. Soulstar was in bad shape. Limping forward he leaned his shoulder against the tree and gazed, glassy eyed, towards Shattergaze. "Here," was all he was able to choke out. He swallowed but all he could taste was blood. His ears were ringing and he could hear a faint voice whispering something. Was it death? No he still had nine lives left. He felt faint. The voice screamed at him. Wincing Soulstar jerked his closed eyes open, he didn't recall them closing. He swallowed again, tasting more blood. Get back.... The thought abandoned him. He swayed...

She followed his voice and found the mess of a cat. Her wounds where bad but in comparison she was as fit as a fiddle. Soulstars eyes where dancing with the image of one close to death. Oh no you dont. Shattergaze ran to catch the larger leader. This is where being small had its disadvantages. She held her fallen leader he legs straining but her determination overpowered he weakness. Moving forward she did her best to carry her leader instead of drag him across the terrain. "Soul, Soulstar wake up please and talk to me if you can hear me". Shattergaze would feel awful if her leader lost a life due to a fox and she was doing everything possible to prevent it."I need the medicine cat or at least water". "Help!" she screeched in the most earsplitting voice she could muster.
