Lionkit shifted his weight. No one talked to him like that not even Nightkit. Lionkit swiped at Garnetpaw's tail. "Not turn away from me." He growled. The large ginger-orange kit paused for a moment and tried to ge a hold of himself. He had a temper sometimes and was very stubbourn. "It was your own fault. You rejected our offers. You possiblly might have made it into the group, but your too stuck up to admit you wanted to join us." He hissed. "The way your acting now, you..."Lionkit cut himself off, he knew what he wanted to say, he was sure his former denmate knew what he wanted to say. The kit paused again before continuing. "I'll be greater then you so it doesn't matter."

Garnetpaw yowled in surprise when he felt tiny claws in his tail. "What is your issue, kit?" he spat. "I don't have to be getting moss for you! I could just leave what I've collected here and leave you four brats to sleep in bare nests," he hissed, lashing his tail and turning around, continuing to gather moss and pretend like Lionkit wasn't there. The next few things he said, however, really made the apprentice was to attack him, but he knew that if he did, Cloverstar would never let him become a warrior. "Think what you will," Garnetpaw replied. His voice was strained as he tried hard to keep himself from getting annoyed further.
But when Lionkit cut himself off, Garnetpaw froze. He dropped his moss and turned to face Lionkit with a frosty glare. "What? What am I acting like?" he challenged, narrowing his eyes slightly.

“I never asked you to change my bedding!” He snapped. Claws flexed digging into the soft ground, tail lashing from side to side the miniature lion stood there meeting the apprentice’s icy gaze his green eyes hard as a rock in return. Lionkit could tell he had struck a cord this time, but he neither smiled nor frowned this time. He wasn’t much smaller then Garnetpaw and he was confident he could take on the apprentice if push came to shove. “Your acting like a stuffed, stuck up badger! You won’t let anyone in. You just an over sized coward! You’re turning into another Tigerpaw!” Lionkit disliked Tigerpaw, he acted so cool and even though he was almost a senior apprentice and close to becoming a warrior. “Loosen up, and learn to live a little. My life was crummy to till I let the others in, don’t think you’re the only one!” Lionkit then hissed. Anger and adrenaline was coursing through him. The other cat didn’t have the right to take his anger out on him but Lionkit also realized he too had no right to take his anger out on him. But that just made them even now. “Get your head out of the past or whatever it is that angers you and live in the present. Get your tail out of a knot.” The kit then finished his voice just slightly lowered. He didn’t know why he tried. Nothing could get through Garnetpaw’s tick head.

The skinny tabby apprentice stared at Lionkit for a long time before responding. "I don't need useless connections. Anyone you get close to will wind up leaving. Even Nightkit, Moonkit and Raidkit. Emotional attachments get you nowhere," he responded stonily. At least, that was what he'd told himself when he left his sister. He yawned as if now bored with talking to the little lion.
"Oh well, at least Tigerpaw and Frostpaw make better denmates than you lot did," he said casually as he dipped his head to pick up the moss again. Without acknowledging the kit, he turned and began trotting back towards camp.

The miniature lion watched Garnetpaw with trained forest green eyes. He felt his anger slightly burning off and some kind of hurt taking its place. Garnetpaw really had no sense of friendship, bonds or anything of the sort. “We learn from our bonds. Good and Bad. If someone leaves it’s their loss. If you leave it’s your loss. You need to overcome this wall you have built for yourself. Life is much easier to deal with when you have others to help you through it. Something tells me you walked out on someone, and that would be your loss. But like you said it doesn’t matter now.” Lionkit said in a lower tone, his tail still twitching side to side. He watched as Garnetpaw trotted off after speaking so casually about Tigerpaw and Frostpaw being better denmates. “I heard you need to live a little to be a warrior, which leads me to think you’ll never be a full warrior!” He then yowled back at Garnetpaw. Lionkit then turned and jumped over a sink hole he knew was there and landed on dry ground. The lion would go find his secret spot where he went to think. His anger was burning in him reaching to the tip of his tail. No one could say he didn’t try. Finding his hollow tree with a rock in it he sat on the rock, and looked up to the open sky where the bit of sun shone on him. “My life hasn’t been the easiest either…” he muttered though he was sure no one was there to hear.

Garnetpaw shook his head. "No matter how you put it, there's no way you can get hurt or betrayed if you never attach yourself to another," he meowed flatly. He flinched heavily when Lionkit suggested that he'd walked out on someone. His thoughts strayed to his sister in RiverClan before he forced himself to focus on the cat talking to him. "Don't think you know so much," he warned, baring his teeth slightly. "There is much about my reasoning that you don't know."
