Stargazer sat near the creek's edge, staring silently into the somewhat frozen water. It was a very quiet, blank-slate sort of morning, with patches of snow, mostly covering the fallen trees around her. Peaceful. Her eyes, a bright gold, caught sight of a shape moving nearby her and she snapped her head up. A rabbit, just a Windclan rabbit, had leaned toward the water as if wanting to cross it. But as the rabbit caught sight of the still, gray she-cat, it sniffed twice and was gone in an instant.
She'd left Silversun behind. The memory of her dear, dear friend, at least. The spotted, hot-headed, she-cat warrior Stargazer had grown to love like a sister was dead now, an 'accidental' killing, they'd called it. But she knew, as Silversun did, that it was no accident. Especially now that Silversun had passed beyond even Starclan, that she'd been killed there as well. It'd been a plan, Stargazer could feel it in her bones. A scheme made by an angry cat.
That's all that ever happened to her these days. It had started with Rojor, horrible monarchist, and hadn't ended until now. She hoped it had, anyway. She'd checked the place, tresspassed enough to be killed for it just to be sure. If there was anyone left, they were dead and gone, gone away from her. She was very nearly glad Silversun couldn't see her now, so suspicious. Silver had tried to change her, and it'd worked for awhile. Now that she was gone, acting the way she did hurt Stargazer in a way, emotionally, mentally.
And so the lithe, gray warrior sat, burning imaginary holes into the icy water.

Witherpaw looked around onfusedly. What herbs was she looking for again? Catmint? No. Yarrow? No. Deathberries? Not even close. Witherpaw paused for a moment; staring at the cold, rippling creek. Well I'm here, I might as well rest for a bit. Witherpaw flopped down on her side and rolled around for no apparent reason; but hey, she was known for doing stupid things. W-what h-herbs w-was I l-look ~ h-huh? Witherpaw directed her gaze to a pretty she-cat. The tiny she-cat grinned; maybe she knows what she came out for. What was her name again? Star-something. Witherpaw snuck up behind Star-something; leaned really close to her ear and: H-HEY ST-STAR-SOMETHING! D-DO Y-YOU KN-KNOW WH-WHAT H-HERBS I W-WAS L-LOOKING F-FOR?!?
[[Sorry that was so short and idiotic]]

Ghostpaw jumped he had been exploring near by when he heard Witherpaws shout. Shaking his head to rid himself of the shock he went to investigate. He had been unable to tell what she had said and was thinking it over on the way. When he found the two her stopped Witherpaw had just succeeded in shouting in the ear of a cat who looked like she'd rather be left alone. It took him a moment to identify the warrior that was with them.Stargazer am sure of it .. that the name right?. He sure hoped it was "Err.. hello there Stargazer, Witherpaw".

H-huh? Witherpaw turned to see another apprentice heading towards them. H-hi! N-nice t-to s-see y-you umm... She paused for a moment, realizing she had no idea what his name was. Witherpaw just sat there for a long time; confusion written all over her face. She just stared at him for what seemed like moons. Suddenly, a grin replaced her confusion. N-nice t-to s-see y-you G-Ghostpaw! Witherpaw puffed out her chest in pride for remembering his name. Witherpaw walked up to Ghostpaw and looked at him in curiousity. D-do y-you kn-know w-what h-herbs I'm l-looking f-for? the tiny tabby turned her head sideways; waiting expectantly for an aswer.

Stargazer spun on her toes, ears flat on her head, clenching her teeth. "Comrade, please!" she hissed quietly, running her paw twice over the ear Witherpaw had shouted into. "You shouldn't do things like that. You are lucky I am no violent cat -- some other may give you a scratch you wouldn't soon forget!" She fluffed her fur, relaxing. The ringing in her head came to a less-bothersome pitch before stopping altogether, and she greeted Ghostpaw with a small smile.
"As far as herbs go, I am unsure of it. Do you remember what they look like? What they do? We cannot read your mind, comrade," she purred, her smile growing. She was fond of Witherpaw, as bouncy a cat as she was.
[Eugh, short. xP]

Oh, s-sorry. Witherpaw laid her ears back in embarrassment. She had always tended to act without thinking first; a rather bad habit. Stargazer was right, she had been lucky that she wasn't a violent cat. Witherpaw winced at the thought of being scratched for her stupidity. Not good. As f-for h-herbs...l-leafy, f-found in w-wet p-places, and f-for b-bellyache. That was all about she could remember about it. Witherpaw hoped that the little description she gave Stargazer was enough.
[[It's okay. I do it all the time; like now for instance. Hehe]]

Ghostpaw curled his ears back and crouched as Stargazer lashed out at Witherpaw. Then composing himself he prepared to help for the search of Wither's herbs. Stargazer speech was different than what he was used to but he told himself he could adjust. He laughed at himself silently he was used to Witherpaws speech but it was clear she spoke differently as well."Am no medicine cat so I haven't got a clue" he said.
-grr its short and sad.

"Well, comrade," Stargazer began, stretching out her hind leg. "I believe you may be looking for..." she let the sentence waver as she went through a list of herbs in her head, the ones her mother had taught her of. The first and reoccuring thought in her head chervil root. No, it's leafy. The gray she-cat's ears twitched. "Water mint!" she said suddenly, "Witherpaw, I do believe you are looking for water mint. If my mind does not decieve me, it should be either along the riverbank or, perhaps, growing right out of the shallows!"
Nothing could have brought her ears down in those few minutes: she had used something, anything from her past that hadn't been useless or a pity-party affair, and this brightened her mood immensly. She turned toward the water, eyes scanning the bank for the plant Witherpaw wanted. Suddenly, Stargazer spun nervously, realizing she'd hardly given Witherpaw a chance to reply. "That...that is the herb you are looking for, comrade?"

Y-yeah! W-water m-mint, th-that's it! Th-thanks! Witherpaw padded over to the shallows and dug up some of the herb. Th-that sh-should d-do it. Th-thanks again! She paused for a minute, remembering how strange Stargazer looked before she had screamed in her ear. Y-you okay? Y-you s-seemed a b-bit s-sad b-before. Anything b-bothering y-you? Witherpaw asked sympathetically. She liked listening to other cats problems, mostly because she was nosy though. But hey, who cared? Though their was one question that bothered her even more than that. Wh-who's comrade?

Ghost watched Stargazer surprised about her knowledge of herbs. She's older than you silly, you haven't even had time to learn them.....not that your going to anyway. Stargazer looked actually happy for the first time since they had met and this brought a smile to Ghostpaw's face. He hated to see people sad. It finished when Witherpaw asked about what she was sad about. She could easily avoid the question if she truly wants to so asking it should do no harm. He walked closer his interest sparked.

Stargazer's smile lost its luster, and she shrugged. "Oh, comrade, I really wasn't so sad. I was thinking on an old friend of mine, and how things--" Are slipping away? "How things are...so confusing these days, you know." Why did you kill her? The she-cat shook herself, shrugging. "The sort of thing I shouldn't bother myself with."
She laughed as Witherpaw spoke again. "Oh, it's nothing. An old term meaning 'friend,' that's all. We used it constantly outside the clans." Nonchalant now, so nonchalant about the entire thing. Most cats new. Perhaps Witherpaw wasn't one of them, but Stargazer didn't mind rehashing an old story. Nothing about Rojor, of course. Fluffing the story for the apprentice's sake, she did that often.

Everything c-confuses m-me! Witherpaw grinned as if she were proud of her own stupidity. W-what h-happened t-to y-your f-friend? Her green eyes were lit with curiousity. She edged in a little closer in hopes for a story; if Witherpaw went a bit closer, she might as well of shoved Stargazer into the river.
Witherpaw sighed in relief at Stargazer's comrade comment. G-good! F-for a m-minute th-there, I th-thought I w-was g-going b-blind or s-something!

Ghostpaw saw as he suspected Stargazer's happiness float away. He wasnt the best with his word so he remaind silent as Wither got Stargazer to laugh again. What at ever was hurting the she-cat, she was trying to hide it. He shook his head clearing it of thoughts. No that cant be right she's sad about losing a friend. He quity asked the starclan to brighten Stargazers life one way or another.
Amusement entered Ghost face's as Witherpaw actually sounded proud of her confusion. Then the happiness was lost again as Wither pressed for a story.

"Oh." Stargazer's head lowered slightly, but she shook herself and smiled widely. "Oh, well. She, she...passed away. As all cats do."
The lithe gray she-cat slipped quietly around Witherpaw, walking slowly back in the direction of camp. She paused, however, just a few steps away. "Does either one of you need anything else?" Stargazer curled her tail about her hind legs almost nervously. "I could...depart if you wish to stay out here."
[Ew, shorrrt.]

Aww! Stargazer looks so sad! Witherpaw frowned as she stared at Stargazer. I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better. Is there an herb for sadness? She wondered. Not that she knew of; their was an herb for anxiety, but she never heard of an herb for sadness. Witherpaw could look for one though. Witherpaw then decided what she would do, she would look for sadness curing herb. She could surprise Stargazer with it and then she wouldn't be sad anymore! She smiled at the thought; it most likely wouldn't work, but it seemed to make sense to her. I d-don't n-need anything! Witherpaw shook her head. The tiny tabby swished around towards Ghostpaw. I n-need y-your h-help. Witherpaw whispered urgently.
