Soulstar lay there, beside Cloverstar, gazing at the water for a few moments, wishing that somehow, someway, they would find a way to be accepted. He sighed and listened to her speak he turned to her, knowing it was wrong to love her but not being able to pull his heart away. "I would never run you off" He whispered in her ear. He smiled slightly and looked back to the water. "Honestly when you think about it a bit" He said quietly, "When the clans moved here rules were broken, everyone thought Starclan was gone..." He paused, not really knowing where he was going. Instead of continuing he simply laid his head on his paws and stayed silent.[/color]

Cloverstar nodded at his words. "You're right," she meowed. "Maybe it's not too late to change to rules? Perhaps StarClan wouldn't mind a tiny tweak," she mewed, but she knew it wouldn't work out in their favor. StarClan had put the rule there for a reason and it was to prevent hesitation if Cloverstar should meet Soulstar in battle. But she was sure that wouldn't be a problem. Since they were both leaders they could ally their Clans and always fight on the same side. She comforted herself with that thought and allowed herself to lean towards the golden tom slightly so that their sides were brushing slightly.

Soulstar felt calmed when Cloverstar leaned against his side, a small purr rose in his chest. Yes, the rules can be broken. After all Starclan and Crescentclan have broken the rule of no life after death! he smiled at the thought. Finally he turned his face slightly towards Cloverstar and gazed up at her, "So I take it Thunderclan and Shadowclan are allied?" He pulled his head up off of his paws and gazed at her kindly for a moment before speaking again, "I certainly won't be launching an attack in my future." He leaned towards her slightly and added "How about you?"[/color]

Cloverstar smiled and nodded. He was right about CresentClan and StarClan. "Yes, ThunderClan and ShadowClan are allied. At the next meeting I'll announce that through a careful 'negotiation' we've allied the Clans," she purred and shrugged innocently. "Well can the big bad leader of ShadowClan be trusted?" she asked. Her tail flicked towards him and she laughed softly to show she was trying to joke about the Clan stereotypes again.

Ahh stereotypes, something everyone keeps in mind. He smiled and purred at her "Yes careful 'negotiation'. That would include heated conversations and fights over a small rock on the border. We must keep those stereotypes up and running." He smiled and laughed softly before laying his tail over hers softly. "Oh how could Thunderclan ever stand Shadowclan?" He sighed and looked towards Windclan then Riverclan. "We will just have to hope they don't figure out that Thunderclan and Shadowclan have let down their brilliant defenses to forge a complicated alliance." He smiledat her and waited calmly for a response.[/color]

Cloverstar laughed. "I do get the small rock, don't I?" she cooed and giggled. "And I suppose ThunderClan will just learn to tolerate ShadowClan, eh?" she asked. She quickly reached up to touch her nose to Soulstar's cheek. She followed his gaze towards RiverClan and ShadowClan and smiled. "Oh so complicated," she echoed in agreement. "With these two Clans allied, perhaps WindClan and RiverClan will begin an alliance of their own?" she mused, tilting her head slightly to one side and still looking towards the other two Clans.

Soulstar reached forward and pulled a paw sized rock towards them, finally pushing it to Cloverstar. "Yup, here is your rock" he mused with a smile. He leaned against her, "Indeed, we will adapt." He flicked his gaze to Clover "The question is, will the rest of our clans like the alliance?" When she touched his cheek with her nose he purred and listened to what she was saying. "Perhaps, or maybe they will try to pull this" He licked her cheek, "Alliance apart."[/color]

Cloverstar's tough side began acting up again. "I'd like to see them try and break it up," she mewed hotly and puffed out her chest. She calmed down shortly after because of the lick on her cheek and belatedly focused on the rock. "Awm how seet of you. Such a nice gift!" she exclaimed and leaned forward slightly to sniff at the small rock.

Soulstar flicked his gaze back up towards Riverclan and Windclan, 'I'd like to see them try and break it up'. He smiled and looked to her as she spoke, she could be so serious, and that was why she made a good leader. 'Awm how seet of you. Such a nice gift!' He purred and let out a small laugh as she sniffed the rock. "Ah well you know I've been looking for ages and just found the right one. Hard to find these things these days you know?" He laughed again and tucked his paws under his chest as he turned his gaze to Cloverstar as she sniffed the rock.[/color]

Uh-huh, I'm so sure," Cloverstar mewed. She rolled onto her side so her belly was towards Soulstar and swatted lazily at his shoulder with her paw. "I wasn't aware that ThunderClan was capable of finding such a perfect rock," she teased. She told herself that that one didn't make sense, but she didn't really care so she didn't bother correcting herself.

Soulstar smiled and watched Cloverstar as she spoke, then rolled onto her side. He watched her as she swatted his shoulder playfully. He rolled over as if she shoved him over "Gah!" he said playfully, but then he lost his balance and tumbled into the creek. He gasped and pulled himself onto the land again, shaking and shivering. Blasted water! He pulled himself to a dry spot and quickly started lapping at his fur, trying to get it dry before his soft undercoat was soaked causing him to catch a cold.[/color]

"Sorry!" Cloverstar gasped when Soulstar went tumbling into the creek. She waited nervously for him to pull himself out and went over and started helping him lick his fur dry. "I guess I don't know my own strength," she asked in between licks. She felt bad because even if Soulstar had rolled himself into the water it was because of her that he rolled. "I don't want you to get sick." She glanced up at him and continued licking at a patch on his shoulder.

Soulstar lapped at his paws then at his chest as Cloverstar spoke. He felt bad for making her feel bad. "No. It's fine. I will. Be fine." He spoke between licks as he tried to get his chest fur dry. Then he felt another tongue on his shoulder and he glanced sideways, it was Cloverstar. He smiled and licked he top of her head once before going back to his upper arm now. Soulstar sighed as he paused to take a breath, how foolish had he been to roll into the water? He shifted slightly and looked to Cloverstar "I'll get checked over when I get back to camp" He smiled at her, hoping to calm her then went back to drying his dappled coat.[/color]

Cloverstar kept licking his shoulder while he spoke. "Okay, be sure that you do or I might be tempted to send Silvermask over there," she joked. Of course she wouldn't. That would probably be followed by questions of how she knew the ThunderClan leader fell into Four Creeks and various other questions that didn't need to be answered. "Silly toms. Always rolling into rivers," she sighed over dramatically and smiled at Soulstar.

The spotted tom cat smiled at the white Shadowclan leader. "Would you really risk sending someone into Thunderclan camp? They'd wonder how you knew that I fell in." He smiled and swished his tail over the damp grasses. His pelt was rapidly drying, luckily the water hadn't penetrated his soft undercoat. His claws flexed as he stretched his cold muscles, rippling under his coat. He sat up and looked at Cloverstar with a smirk, "Yep, we are just so, so, bad at paying attention."[/color]
