It is 1620 in the booming English town of Yarm. King James I rules over the relatively peaceful kingdom, and his citizens are happy to live without war.
For centuries, the Romani people have lived in hate. Everywhere they go, they are faced with laws forcing them to either give up their lifestyle or face death. But in this peaceful time, those laws are no longer in effect in England. Still, people are not happy with those they have named "Gypsies." People fear the Romani, coming up with stories of the Roma people stealing children, or casting spells with black magic. Though most of these tales are untrue, they persist in the hateful world.
A tribe of Romani has settled not far from the town of Yarm. Headed by a man named Nikolai, they want nothing more than to stay until the end of the third week in October, when the Yarm festival takes place. They wish to sell their goods and services, then be on their way. The Romani must always travel, for it is in their blood to do so. therenaissance.proboards.com/index.cgi
